Today, Lauren Mia, a Berlin-based multi-disciplinary artist and producer, honors remarkable women who have influenced and shaped her artistic path through a special playlist for Atwood Magazine’s Women’s History Month series. Mia expresses, “This playlist highlights extraordinary women who have inspired and defined my artistic journey – from influential techno trailblazers to creators of spiritual soundscapes. Each artist featured embodies a distinct expression of feminine energy in electronic music and embodies fearless creativity. During International Women’s Month, I aimed to showcase the diverse sounds women are contributing to dancefloors around the globe.”
Originally from Los Angeles, Lauren Mia has recently released remixes for Boris Brejcha’s Fckng Serious label and Pretty Pink, as well as her independent EP ‘Spectral Reverie’. This series of releases followed the momentum of her debut album ‘RE:BIRTH’, which was launched in late 2023, along with a subsequent 10-track remix compilation featuring reinterpretations from Alfa Romero, Aalson, SKALA, Anakim, Binaryh, and others. In January, she launched Halcyon Label with “Sapiosensual”, building on the success of her Armada Music Electronic Elements debut “Halcyon” in late 2024.
In addition to her studio projects, Lauren Mia’s live performances throughout 2024 showcased her musical philosophy at renowned venues like Brooklyn Mirage/Avant Gardner, Hi Ibiza, and Soho Garden. Her festival appearances at Zamna, About You Pangea, and Magic Break have solidified her international standing, further enhanced by extensive tours across India, Europe, the United States, and a broad Australasian circuit. This momentum is set to continue into 2025, with Lauren scheduled for her inaugural festival performance at Insomniac’s flagship event EDC Las Vegas as part of the Interstellar Recordings showcase.

Lauren Mia – “Sapiosensual“
This was my initial release of the year, and it holds a special significance for me. With this track, I felt a strong connection to my feminine energy, allowing my compassion, emotional depth, and vulnerability to influence the creative journey. It encapsulates the essence of how I love: through feeling, presence, and soul. I tend to fall for the minds and energies of others rather than the physical aspect. It’s the intellect and essence that captivates me, something I genuinely admire about myself as a woman.
Amelie Lens – “Falling for You“
I have been a long-time admirer of Amelie, and this song represents a refreshing evolution from her previous works. It veers more towards melodic and progressive styles. For me, it highlights a more feminine aspect of her techno productions, which I found to be both beautiful and inspiring. I love when artists reveal different facets of themselves.
Blossom – “About You“
I met Blossom many years ago while we were both interning at Dim Mak Records during our student days, just starting our careers. Observing her growth and development into the artist she is now has been truly inspiring. The way she has defined her sound and found her niche in Drum & Bass is remarkable. She is an incredibly talented producer and an undeniable force within the electronic music landscape.
Mary Droppinz – “Pink Lambo“
Droppinz exudes a unique vibe — she stands out as one of the most distinct female artists in our scene. Her authenticity is evident in everything she does, from her sound to her overall presence, and that’s something I deeply respect and admire. I’m fortunate to call her a friend. This track is sexy, fun, and always gets me moving.
ANNA – “Future Hearts“
ANNA has always been an artist I admire. She is a formidable force within the industry. While I have always enjoyed her music, I have recently resonated deeply with her journey involving plant medicine, consciousness, and spirituality. I truly admire her studio workflow, and her expertise with analog equipment is on another level. There is wisdom and depth in everything she produces.
