The Reds, Pinks and Purples Unveil Details About Their Upcoming Album ‘The Past Is A Garden I Never Fed’

      02 · 04 · 2025

The Reds, Pinks and Purples will be releasing their new album ‘The Past Is A Garden I Never Fed’ on July 4th.

This project is led by songwriter Glenn Donaldson, a key figure in the indie pop scene on the American West Coast. As a prolific songwriter, he has produced over 200 songs and released eight albums in the past six years, establishing The Reds, Pinks and Purples as a genuine cult sensation.

Glenn recently shared: “I looked around the indie scene and noticed there weren’t enough artists showcasing themselves as the awkward, emotionally vulnerable protagonists in their songs.”

Originally, the songs came out like monthly postcards to a dedicated but small audience, but the project has since gained a more focused direction, operating with clear intent. The new album, ‘The Past Is A Garden I Never Fed,’ includes 14 previously unreleased tracks in physical format, creating a collection that feels like a series of short stories.

The new track ‘I Only Ever Wanted To See You Fail’ features a riff reminiscent of legendary pub rockers Eddie & The Hotrods, though it has been reimagined with a raw indie pop twist.

With lyrics brimming with energy and attitude, you can listen to it below.

      Tracklist:

The World Doesn’t Need Another Band

I Only Ever Wanted To See You Fail

      A Figure on the Stairs
