Kai Bosch makes a vibrant return with his new EP ‘Popstar Of Your Dreams.’
The artist has been teasing this project through several singles, including the energetic track ‘Rodeo Romeo’ – which was even named BBC Music Introducing Track of the Week.
The EP was developed last summer, with ‘Popstar Of Your Dreams’ creating a space for carefree creativity and pure joy.
Collaborating with producer Duncan Mills, they tapped into Kai’s primary influences – Girls Aloud, Charli XCX, Gwen Stefani, Marina and The Diamonds, and Cyprus’ 2012 Eurovision Entry – aiming to create “the most maximalist, camp, and exhilarating pop music possible.”
Available now, ‘Popstar Of Your Dreams’ is bold, lively, and bursting with color, encapsulating the essence of a pop artist expressing themselves freely and having fun.
Kai describes the EP as “all about taking myself less seriously and returning to making music for my own pleasure...”
He mentioned, “I wrote it during a time when I was feeling quite low about my music career – I was really succumbing to comparisons and seeking external validation, feeling as though nothing I did was enough to reach the success I desired. Ironically, reconnecting with my music involved creating an alter ego – Kai Bosch, Popstar Of Your Dreams!”
“I made a promise to myself for this project not to overthink anything. I usually put myself through a lot of stress over lyrics and spend excessive time perfecting the production, making me tire of the song by its completion. For this project, if it felt right, that was all that counted, and I ended up having the most enjoyable experience in the studio while making this EP.”
