Rival Consoles has released a new single titled ‘Known Shape’.
The electronic composer has been at the forefront of contemporary music for more than a decade, amassing an impressive catalog along the way.
The upcoming album ‘Landscape From Memory’ will be available on July 4th, and a special pre-release tour is scheduled for this Spring, which includes performances in London, Glasgow, Leeds, and Dublin.
The new single ‘Known Shape’ captures what Rival Consoles describes as the “strange beauty” of the album, intertwining past, present, and future “in a very strong way.”
In ‘Known Shape’, there’s an unsettling quality as Rival Consoles blurs the distinctions between man and machine, as well as organic and digital.
He remarks...
“I’ve always had a fascination with machine controls because they create beautiful sounds and possess their own rhythms. The drums consist of rotating switches, while the synths move to invisible mechanical rhythms. Machines share a unique connection to the human spirit, which is both positive and negative, but primarily restless. In ‘Known Shape’, there’s an ongoing quest for some sort of answer or emotion.”
