The haunting new single 'Fiction Memory' has just been released...
Danish artist GB has announced a forthcoming double EP.
The Copenhagen-born musician now divides his time between Denmark and London, drawing from various traditions and communities. His debut album from last year, 'Gusse Music', was a 33-minute symphonic collage that blended numerous styles and received significant acclaim.
Collaborating with the key label untitled (recs), his new double EP 'Ressed' / 'Falter' further expands his aesthetic by introducing bold, unexpected elements.
Now available, the single 'Fiction Memory' features GB – Gustav Berntsen – employing a deliberately limited sound palette, showcasing this minimalist approach in an impressively fresh manner.
He explains...
"'Fiction Memory' is constructed from a four-bar loop derived from a long improvisation involving four musicians. You can hear it in the drums, bass, and guitars. The tracks on my previous album 'Gusse Music' didn't evolve much; I was fascinated by repetition and the way I can find melancholy in the infinite—stretching these moments and crafting songs around them. This time, I wanted to explore a sense of progression or change. I aimed to create something enjoyable and hopeful, ultimately uplifting."
