Cliffords is set to release a brand new EP titled 'Salt of the Lee' on May 30th. The Irish band announced this alongside their second single from the upcoming release, ‘Dungarvan Bay’. Vocalist Iona Lynch described the new song as exploring the theme of growing with grief. She shared, “Two years ago, a college friend of mine passed away, and for many of us, it was our first real experience with grief." Lynch explained that the first half of the song was written within a week of her friend's passing when she felt overwhelmed by sorrow. "The second half was penned a year later, as I recognized that I was still carrying that grief and sadness. However, through the support of his friends and family, we learned to grow with it." She further expressed her intention for the song to reflect the varied emotions associated with loss, emphasizing that moments of humor, joy, and growth can coexist, and while grief may linger, it will evolve over time. This release follows the Cork band's debut EP, ‘Strawberry Scented’, which was self-funded and came out in 2024. 'Salt of the Lee' represents a new chapter for the quartet as they sign with the recently established label Soil To The Sun and collaborate with producer Richie Kennedy at Battery Studios in London.
