Kae Tempest is officially making a return! The musician, poet, and author has announced the upcoming release of his fifth studio album, ‘Self Titled,’ set to drop on July 4th through Island Records. This announcement coincides with the debut of the new single, ‘Know Yourself,’ which features a contemplative music video filmed in a barbershop. “I love this song,” Kae remarked about the new release. “It includes a lyric I penned years ago, where my younger self converses with my older self. It's a dialogue between different selves across time, in real time. Or to put it more simply – when I was young, I sought guidance from my older self. I entered my mind and instructed myself to know myself,” he continued. The upcoming album, which comprises 12 tracks and serves as a follow-up to 2022’s ‘The Line Is A Curve,’ is said to delve into Kae’s inner self as both an artist and a person. The versatile artist collaborated with Grammy-winning producer Fraser T Smith on this project, which features guest artists like Neil Tennant, Young Fathers, Connie Constance, and Tawiah. This year promises to be the largest yet for Kae, who recently wrapped up a headline performance at the 2025 BBC 6 Music Festival in Manchester. You can listen to ‘Know Yourself’ below: ‘SELF TITLED’ tracklist: 1. I Stand On The Line 2. Statue In The Square 3. Know Yourself 4. Sunshine On Catford 5. Bless The Bold Future 6.
