London rapper V.I.C. has released his new mixtape, ‘VÄRIANT’, in its entirety.
The five-track project showcases his youthful energy, with V.I.C. exhibiting true skill as he navigates various flows.
A series of energetic singles have set the stage for this release, with V.I.C. blending elements of drill, trap, and UK styles, while also incorporating some afrobeats influences.
The production team is exceptional, featuring Evil Genius as Executive Producer, along with Paya from The Silhouettes Project (who has worked with ENNY, Shae Universe, and Maverick Sabre), New Zealand’s Ashton Stellars (known for work with Burna Boy, FLO, and Denzel Curry), among others.
The mixtape is already generating buzz. V.I.C. shares...
“VÄRIANT represents everything I have come to realize about myself – that I am different. From my thought processes to my daily life, from my entry into music to my childhood experiences. I’ve always felt out of place, often being the only Black kid after moving to the UK from Nigeria at the age of 9, trying to find my identity. My path into music has been driven by sheer determination and learning to accept imperfection, which I eventually learned is the essence of creativity. Once I reached a point of confidence in my writing, my abilities, and my storytelling, I decided to explore my creativity and celebrate my uniqueness with this five-track project.”
“I believe that being different and individual is a superpower today – that’s what I want VÄRIANT to embody. It’s about pushing yourself into unfamiliar territories to uncover what emerges – and what emerges is your authentic, unfiltered self.”
