Christian Lee Hutson is preparing to unveil a Deluxe Edition of his album ‘Paradise Pop. 10’.
The songwriter released the original album last year, highlighting a remarkable song cycle that showcased the narrative depth and precise categorization of his lyrics.
Looking at some of the tracks from the original record from a new perspective, the Deluxe Edition will be available on June 6th.
This release includes several songs from ‘Paradise Pop. 10’, in addition to the previously beloved track ‘Rubberneckers’. The new versions were recorded over a weekend at the renowned Sound City Studios in Los Angeles.
“I’ve never produced a deluxe edition for an album, but there were a few songs I wanted to capture in a more stripped-back style, similar to how I perform them on tour,” Hutson shares. “The opening track of ‘Paradise Pop. 10’, ‘Tiger’, originally had entirely different lyrics that Maya Hawke and I worked on together and revised for this version. We decided to call it ‘Tiger 2’ although it’s technically a prequel.”
Featuring only Hutson on acoustic guitar and Odessa Jorgensen on cello and violin, a new interpretation of ‘After Hours’ is now available online – minimalist yet powerful, it offers a fresh perspective on his versatile songwriting.
