Details about the upcoming album 'Hypersigil'...
Glasgow avant-pop artist Elisabeth Elektra has released a new single titled ‘Yearning’.
Her debut album ‘Mercurial’ was released in 2020, characterized by pop experimentation and an exploration of her own “femme witch” experiences.
The new album ‘Hypersigil’ is set to be released on June 6th, with the title inspired by a concept introduced by comic book writer and chaos magician Grant Morrison — a “living narrative spell” that aims to alter reality.
The complete tracklist has just been revealed, alongside the powerful new single ‘Yearning’. The track combines the alien pop maximalism reminiscent of Lady Gaga with the intense force of Nine Inch Nails from their ‘The Downward Spiral’ era, and was developed in collaboration with Jonny Scott of CHVRCHES.
Elisabeth Elektra describes the song as exploring “what we give away when we want to be seen, and the risks involved in longing for connection in a world that increasingly isolates us.”
