This year marks the 10th anniversary of Gilles Peterson’s Future Bubblers programme.
The initiative was launched to uplift voices that have been overlooked in the music industry, often focusing on people of color and those situated outside of London. The Future Bubblers alumni include several influential artists.
Throughout the past decade, the programme has collaborated with numerous favorite artists from Clash, such as Yazmin Lacey, KinKai, and Skinny Pelembe, consistently showcasing unique individual talents.
Future Bubblers, a development programme supported by Brownswood Recordings, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, with applications for the next round officially opening on 19th May 2025.
Celebrating the accomplishments of Future Bubblers, Gilles shares:
“I am incredibly proud as we step into the tenth year of the Future Bubblers Artist Development project! It has been expertly managed for many years by Amy Frenchum, Selassie Tevie, and Claudia Afranie, and we are now entering a new phase with an exciting new team and new Bubblers bringing forth the next generation of music creatives. As always, huge thanks to the Arts Council and PRS Foundation for their support in making this possible, and to everyone who champions the fantastic music that emerges each year.”
