Kaiser Chiefs will be re-releasing their debut album ‘Employment’ later this year.
Originally launched in 2005, the album achieved phenomenal success, becoming a multi-platinum hit that defined a particular period in UK indie music.
Beloved by fans, the band is not overlooking the 20th anniversary of ‘Employment’—a milestone often celebrated with china. They are preparing a new version of the album that will include a variety of extras.
Set to be released on July 18th, the China Edition has been remastered at Abbey Road Studios, with bonus content chosen by the band from their personal collection.
Listeners can look forward to two previously unheard tracks, unreleased demos, remixes, radio recordings, and a selection of live performances showcasing their thrilling ascent.
Kaiser Chiefs share their thoughts…
“Twenty years ago, a fresh song by a new band was introduced. ‘I Predict A Riot’ marked the beginning of something truly special for a group of musicians from Leeds. The subsequent album, ‘Employment’, transformed our lives and has accompanied the lives of millions since 2005. In 2025, we’re honoring 20 years of that album and everyone is welcome to join us. Come celebrate the 2000s with us, as we embrace everything less and less, and watch striped blazers take over the world…”

Kaiser Chiefs will also embark on a series of summer concerts, including performances at Glastonbury, a significant hometown show at Leeds’ Temple Newsam Park, and a date at Alexandra Palace Park in London.
