Becca James is back with her new single ‘Bloom’.
The songwriter's creations inspire us to reevaluate the natural world, showcasing the harmony between her artistic expression and the energies she encounters.
Becca’s debut album ‘God In Chains’ is set to release this Autumn, and her singles so far – ‘Revolution’, ‘Holy Bed’, and ‘God In Chains’ – have all been aligned with the lunar cycles.
Out on Friday (May 23rd), ‘Bloom’ arrives with the New Moon, a moment for reflection, renewal, and planning for advancement in your life.
Available now, ‘Bloom’ shines with beauty – capturing the essence of Spring, it’s illuminated with light and features a lively digi-pop style reminiscent of early Aurora, London Grammar, or a spiritually-inclined Florence & The Machine.
This transformative pop tribute, ‘Bloom’, reveals another facet of Becca James’ artistry. She shares...
‘Bloom’ represents the height of rejuvenating Spring energy; nurturing and abundant with potential. The song signifies the ‘aha’ moment in the healing process when you understand that while the past and your traumas can't be altered, you can embrace the rich soil for growth and healing. This continues the story initiated with the prior single, ‘Revolution’, delving into the notion that we are sowing seeds for new beginnings even amid chaos.
The track is inspired by the lotus flower, a spiritual emblem that flourishes beautifully in adversity, symbolizing the resilience and transformation central to the song. It originated as a piano demo and was refined between the UK and Copenhagen with producer Andreas Stent. Initially more electronic, it evolved through the incorporation of acoustic elements, a hallmark of the album.
I hope it can act as a cathartic, anthem-like ballad for the project, providing contrast to its more serious and darker songs.
