Getdown Services release a contemplative new single titled ‘Chrysalis’.

Getdown Services has unveiled a new single called ‘Chrysalis,’ which is the latest track from their upcoming EP ‘Primordial Slot Machine,’ set to be released on 6th June through Breakfast Records. This new EP features childhood friends Josh Law and Ben Sadler sharing six fresh tracks that reflect their humorous perspective on contemporary British life. Additionally, ‘Primordial Slot Machine’ will also be available on vinyl, alongside the ‘Your Medal’s In The Post’ EP scheduled for 2024. Continuing from their previous project, ‘Chrysalis’ follows ‘Eat Quiche, Sleep, Repeat’ and serves as our second preview of ‘Primordial Slot Machine.’ Josh describes the song as “reflecting a particular feeling I experience when I realize my situation might have improved but my mood hasn’t quite caught up.” He further explains, “It addresses the ways in which we may be wired to pursue stress and unhappiness without even being aware of it. You have to remind yourself to celebrate your successes, as your instinct might be to minimize or focus on the negatives. It also touches on the confusion of engaging in self-destructive behavior when things start going well in your life.” He adds, “There’s also a nod to a scene from Don’t Tell The Bride that we both find amusing. A guy plans a Las Vegas wedding but spends all the funds on the stag do, leaving the bride’s family unable to attend, and she’s furious with him at the airport while he’s asking her for a hug. It’s quite funny.” You can listen to ‘Chrysalis’ here. The band has an exciting summer lined up, featuring festival performances at Glastonbury and End of the Road, following recent appearances at The Great Escape, Wide Awake, and Live at Leeds. They will also embark on a UK headline tour, culminating in their largest show to date at Islington Assembly Hall on 10th November. Below are the band’s upcoming tour dates:
