Experimental artist yeule has released their new album, ‘Evangelic Girl is a Gun’, through Ninja Tune.

This album marks yeule’s most free-spirited, intimate, and complex work to date. Across the ten-track journey, they engage with themes of a self-destructive identity and post-modern anxiety.

Reflecting on the album experience, they succinctly and ominously state: “And now, every unreal part of you is every unreal part of me.”

The project is accompanied by still visuals created in collaboration with artist Vasso Vu, as well as videos for previous singles, ‘Skullcrusher’ and the title track ‘Evangelic Girl is a Gun’, co-directed by yeule and Neil Krug. The album delves into the contrast of darkness and shares yeule’s personal history in their role as the “painter.”

Featuring production work from A. G. Cook, Chris Greatti, Mura Masa, Clams Casino, Fitnesss, and Kin Leonn, who is yeule’s longtime collaborator and co-executive producer of the 2023 album, ‘softscars.’

With its hypnotic melodies, the album portrays the tortured artist confined within an image, with haunting vocals acting as an emotional grip amidst desolate dance rhythms.

In support of the album, yeule will headline shows in Manchester on July 1st and at O2 Forum in Kentish Town, London on July 2nd.
