Sonny Fodera Chooses Seven Of His Favorite Club Anthems

Sonny Fodera Chooses Seven Of His Favorite Club Anthems

Originating from Australia and currently residing in London, you may be familiar with BRIT-nominated Sonny Fodera and his house music experiments filled with grooves. As a prolific DJ, Fodera has gained the attention of club enthusiasts and transatlantic trendsetters with his skillful mixing and headline performances at venues like Brixton Academy, Coachella, Glastonbury, Mayfield Depot in Manchester, The Shrine in LA, and Avant Gardner in New York.

Fodera's remixes and original works have secured over a dozen top ten placements on the Beatport charts, and notably, he has avoided the constraints of large label dominance by remaining independent and releasing music through his own label, Solotoko. As a highlight in his rise within the dance music scene, Fodera is set to debut a 17-week residency at Pacha in Ibiza from June 16 to October 6. He will be joined by artists such as Channel Tres, Jayda G, Danny Howard, Armand Van Helden, Elderbrook, Jazzy, and others.

In anticipation of this significant career milestone, CLASH spoke with the DJ-producer, who shared seven essential tracks—both classics and modern releases—that have shaped his DJing and production approach.

Sonny Fodera, D.O.D, Jazzy – Somedays

Last year, this track felt monumental for me in Ibiza. The audience's reaction and the energy when I played it were always off the charts. Along with the VIP mix, both versions consistently resonate well, and I love witnessing the crowd enjoy themselves when it plays.

ANOTR – Relax My Eyes (Mr. Moudz Edit)

This Afrohouse edit of ‘Relax My Eyes’ has an incredible vibe! I usually play it earlier in my sets, and it’s truly outstanding.

      —

D.O.D (feat. Carla Munroe) – Still Sleepless

Whenever the piano in this track hits, the crowd goes wild, instantly elevating the club atmosphere. It’s a staple in my playlist for every performance.

      —

      Ninetoes – Finder

It's a definitive Ibiza classic; every time I play it, it brings that classic Ibiza summer vibe. The crowd’s excitement is palpable as I drop this track.

      —

Calvin Harris (feat. Clementine Douglas) – Blessings

This track was just released, and I haven't had the chance to play it in Ibiza yet, but I anticipate it will be a huge hit this year. The song radiates summer vibes, so it’s definitely going on my playlist for 2025.

Sonny Fodera (feat. Clementine Douglas) – Asking

It’s been three years since I released this track, and my feelings about it haven't changed. I still enjoy playing it and seeing the crowd's reaction, especially in Ibiza. It will surely be a part of my sets at Pacha every week.

      RÜFÜS DU SOL – Innerbloom

I adore this track. It’s the ideal way to conclude the night and leave everyone feeling uplifted.

Nat & Alex Wolff Swap Sounds for Sentimentality on “Soft Kissing Hour” - Atwood Magazine

In a time characterized by overstimulation and algorithm-based attention grabbers, Nat & Alex Wolff's “Soft Kissing Hour” presents a stark contrast: silence, openness, and authenticity. Now re-released with a surreal visual directed by renowned filmmaker Gia Coppola, the song sees the brothers moving away from showiness and embracing tranquility. It serves as a soft-rock reflection on longing, separation, and the fragile nature of memory, potentially making it their most compelling creation to date.
