Liverpool-based band Honey Motel has released a new single titled ‘If You Didn’t Exist.’
The group formed around two school friends, driven by a unique ambition; emerging from their rehearsal space last year, Honey Motel made their live debut as a quartet at Sound City.
Starting strong, Honey Motel earned early praise from Radio X host John Kennedy, along with performances at Y Not Festival, Stockton Calling Festival, and more.
As they head into The Great Escape, Honey Motel has a busy summer ahead, including a slot on the Main Stage at Y Not Festival.
Having recently opened for The Lottery Winners on tour for their number-one album ‘KOKO’, the band has released something fresh.
Produced by Alexandros Brits, their new single ‘If You Didn’t Exist’ delivers a burst of indie energy, featuring heartfelt elements and catchy hooks. The band builds up to a powerful chorus, showcasing the chemistry that makes the quartet so appealing.
Regarding the single, guitarist Sam shares…
This track is the first one where the band and Fred clicked. I played it for him during one of our early rehearsals, and Lew and Jack joined in. It felt like the song transformed from black and white to full color in an instant. He just seemed to understand it… Fred really brought it to life.
Thematically, ‘If You Didn’t Exist’ reflects on the subtle weight that certain aspects of our lives bear. While they may seem trivial to others, they are crucial for us, holding everything together. Whether it’s a favorite band, a partner, or a personal obsession, removing them makes everything feel unstable. The song encapsulates that emotion, highlighting the fear of losing what makes life meaningful.
