London-based artist Mansur Brown has revealed details about his upcoming album ‘Rihla’.
An effective collaborator and in-demand producer, Mansur Brown has contributed to various projects spanning multiple genres. His new album ‘Rihla’ sees him take center stage once again, with a release date of August 1st.
The title ‘Rihla’ translates to "journey" in Arabic, reflecting his artistic growth – Mansur Brown showcases his vocals throughout the album, while the soundscapes evoke sci-fi-inspired imagery.
The songwriting transitions from R&B reflection to exhilarating DNB energy, with Mansur Brown expressing:
“My music encompasses a variety of emotions, but it consistently carries themes of happiness and gratitude. I aim for it to feel revitalizing.”
The new track ‘Alone’ is available now, offering a compelling glimpse that resonates with empathy – it lyrically addresses personal struggles while striving toward a place of soulful resolution.
Mansur Brown explains...
‘Alone’ is about a friend grappling with self-esteem challenges and seeking external approval. The song speaks to the ongoing internal struggle of aspiring for improvement yet doubting its feasibility. It illustrates the challenges of self-actualization and how it can only be realized through comfort in one's own skin, i.e., being Alone. This relates to the journey we must undertake.
