Indie-soul artist embraces a creative rejuvenation...
Lei Hope is set to release his new EP ‘INERTIA’ on July 23rd.
The rising talent from Manchester has been diligently working over the past 18 months, touring his own music, supporting artists such as Zach Templar, and serving as Hana Vu’s touring guitarist.
Feeling worn out, Lei returned to Manchester with the desire to unpack his emotions. The new EP ‘INERTIA’ is a product of this process, representing a creative reset for the songwriter.
“Reflecting on it now, the EP explores loss in various forms—loss of people, time, and control. Each track served as a means of letting go,” Hope shares.
Scheduled for release on July 23rd through Heist or Hit, the music transitions from the R&B introspection reminiscent of Daniel Caesar to the understated intensity of Charlotte Day Wilson's songwriting. Anchored in acoustic guitar, the EP features the stunning new single ‘Little Sign,’ showcasing Lei Hope's heartfelt exploration of his emotions.
“I felt like I just needed a reset,” he states. “Returning to Manchester after my travels provided me the space to reflect. ‘Little Sign’ was the first song I created in that mindset, and it established the mood for everything that came after.”
