Miles Kane is making a comeback! The indie-rock artist has revealed that he will be launching his sixth album on October 17th through Easy Eye Sound. He announced this alongside the release of his new single, ‘Love Is Cruel’, which is available now. The upcoming album is produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, delivering a polished, vintage rock'n'roll feel. Kane stated, “Dan and I love blending T. Rex, Motown, and The Easybeats, and that’s what this record embodies.” He added, “During our discussions and exchange of references, it was startling how similar our tastes were, and you can sense that mutual enthusiasm in the music.” He also mentioned, “All paths over the past 20 years have led to this moment. I’m eager to take it on tour. This album deserves to be played live.” The duo collaborated with a variety of musicians for the record, including McLaughlin, Daniel Tashian, and The Black Keys’ drummer Patrick Carney. Guitar contributions also came from Tom Bukovac, Nick Bockrath of Cage The Elephant, and Barrie Cadogan from Little Barrie, while Dan provided backing vocals on several tracks. “Creating this record was an incredible experience from beginning to end,” commented producer Dan. “I feel like I gained a lifelong friend in Miles, which is rare. When that happens, it’s extraordinary. This is an artist who could potentially produce records for a lifetime.” You can listen to ‘Love is Cruel’ below.
