And releases new track 'Keep On Keeping On'...
Tommy WÁ has announced his new EP ‘Somewhere Only We Go’.
The songwriter has captured the attention of Dirty Hit, and the Ghana-based, Nigerian-born artist recently performed impressive shows in the UK at The Great Escape and Dot To Dot.
Blending the introspective songwriting of Michael Kiwanuka or Bon Iver’s more nature-inspired moments with elements of his heritage, Tommy WÁ creates something timeless, with deep connections to mid-20th century West African folk music.
The new EP ‘Somewhere Only We Go’ will be released this summer, with Tommy WÁ set to open for American star Macy Gray on her UK headline tour.
The new single ‘Keep On Keeping On’ is available now – the title brings to mind a Curtis Mayfield classic, while his unique style weaves together acoustic guitars and a quivering vocal.
He remarks…
“This song delves into the meaning of being confident in patience and presents a graceful reflective framework for the complexities that may surround an individual’s life.”
