Sam Fender has teamed up with Olivia Dean for his song ‘Rein Me In’. They have recorded a new version of the track, which is included on his latest number one album, ‘People Watching’. Earlier this month, they performed the song at London Stadium for an audience of 80,000; it was such a success that they played it twice at Newcastle’s St. James’ Park. Olivia has contributed a new verse for the song, which she performs before they harmonize on the chorus. “When I collaborate with another artist on one of my songs, I prefer that they create a new part and make it their own, rather than just singing what I’ve already written,” Sam stated about the collaboration. “Olivia brought a female perspective to ‘Rein Me In’, and I think it greatly enhances it. Performing alongside her at these stadium shows has been a wonderful experience. I’m excited for everyone to hear it,” he added. Olivia was reportedly already a fan of the song before they worked on it together. “‘Rein Me In’ is my favorite track on Sam’s album, so it was a joy to write a new verse from a female viewpoint,” she shared. “I’ve admired Sam for quite some time, so I’m thrilled that we got to collaborate on this duet.” You can view the official video for the track, which includes footage from their performances in London and Newcastle, below.
