The introduction of "Baby DONT Cry" is flawless.

Making their debut this June under the creative direction of PSY and the production expertise of i-dle’s Soyeon, Baby DONT Cry signifies a new era for the powerhouse label. They are not only P NATION's first girl group but also one of the most captivating newcomers in K-pop’s 5th generation, merging rock and dance with a Gen Z attitude and global appeal.

Baby DONT Cry has just launched their digital single ‘F Girl’, which is a guitar-centric track the group describes as “Baby Rock.” Accompanied by bold lyrics and a rock-inspired sound, it features a B-side called ‘Bet You’ll Regret It’. Together, these two songs introduce the group’s theme of confident and unfiltered expression.

The group consists of Yihyun, Mia, Kumi, and Beni, who trained for up to five years with P NATION. Their debut revolves around themes of strength, individuality, and emotional authenticity, targeting a new generation of listeners.

Earlier this month, CLASH had the opportunity to speak with the quartet ahead of their debut, discussing their journey thus far, initial impressions, and the legacy they aspire to create.

MLG: First off, congratulations on your debut! How does it feel after such a lengthy journey?

Yihyun: Honestly, this is a moment I’ve dreamed about for a long time. After years of training, it makes me happy but also nervous to finally be in front of people like this. However, since we’ve worked so hard, we’re giving our all.

MLG: Do you recall the first time you met each other? What were your initial thoughts?

Beni: I remember all of our first moments very clearly! Yihyun struck me as a true celebrity since she had already participated in some activities. Kumi was very quiet and mysterious, like a cat. And Mia? I just thought, “Wow, she’s stunning.”

MLG: Let’s help new fans get to know you better. What’s one charm or interesting fact each of you wants to share right away?

Kumi: I build muscle really quickly! Even just a little bit of exercise makes a difference. I hope that’s a fun surprise for our fans.

Yihyun: I feel a bit shy saying this, but maybe it’s my small face and sharp nose? The other members often mention that’s one of my charms.

Mia: I’d say my long legs – and yes, probably my nose too!

Beni: Many people compliment my shoulders, so I’d like to say that’s my charm point!

MLG: If you had to describe Baby DONT Cry’s sound and style in three words, what would they be?

Mia: Unique, lovely, energy. While we may appear sweet or even fragile, there’s strength in that contrast. We all possess strong individuality, and we bring energy.

MLG: If your group had a signature scent or flavor, what would it be?

Yihyun: Lemon sorbet! We’re refreshing and zesty, but there’s also a hint of sweetness.

MLG: If you had to choose a mascot or animal to represent the group?

Beni: A baby tiger. There’s ‘baby’ in our name, and despite our youth, we have something fierce within us.

MLG: Who inspires you the most in music or performance?

Kumi: BLACKPINK’s Lisa sunbaenim. Her stage presence and power are incredibly inspiring. Watching her helped me understand the importance of truly owning a performance.

MLG: What have you learned from role models like PSY or Soyeon?

Mia: From both of them, we learned the significance of being genuine on stage – how to express your heart honestly and give your best to the audience.

MLG: What was it like meeting Soyeon for the first time?

Yihyun: Honestly, it felt like meeting a celebrity. We were really excited and nervous, but mostly we didn’t want to let her down. We all wanted to create something amazing together.

MLG: Of vocal, dance, or performance, which challenged you the most during training?

Beni: Honestly, all of them. Each skill had its own challenges, and I can’t pinpoint one as being harder than the others. Training is a tough but essential part of becoming an artist.

MLG: Was there anything surprising about this journey so far?

Yihyun: I realized that there is so much more to debut than just music and choreography. Interacting with people like you in interviews, expressing ourselves, and figuring out how to thank our fans – those are aspects we didn’t consider during our trainee days, but we’re quickly learning now.

MLG: What keeps you motivated as a team, especially on difficult days?

Mia: We support each other. When one of us is tired or feeling down,
