He was hit with a water pistol...
On June 25, 2025, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day lost his temper at a fan during the Hurricane Festival in Germany after being sprayed with a water gun.
The band is currently on tour, having just delivered a stellar performance at Download Festival in the UK. While performing their epic nine-song set featuring ‘Jesus of Suburbia’ at Hurricane Festival, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong got close to the audience.
A cheeky festival attendee decided to aim a water gun at the punk singer, which angered Armstrong.
“You better stop, or I’ll beat your ass. Do you understand? You better f— alright,” Armstrong shouted in a video that has gone viral.

Clash was captivated by Green Day’s performance at Download, with the reviewer noting:
From beginning to end, the band had the audience completely engaged as they powered through their impressive lineup of greatest hits, including ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’, ‘Longview’, and ‘Welcome to Paradise’. ‘Hitchin’ A Ride’ remains a live favorite, with Billie Joe leading the crowd in loud chants of “You Fat Bas****!” directed at Donald Trump. ‘Brain Stew’ and ‘St. Jimmy’ then ramp up the energy, with red confetti shooting into the air during the latter.
