Mac DeMarco reveals his upcoming album ‘Guitar’ and releases a laid-back single titled ‘Home.’

Mac DeMarco has revealed that he will be launching a brand new album titled ‘Guitar’. The album is set to be released on 22nd August through his own label, Mac's Record Label. This announcement comes with the release of a new single, ‘Home’, which is paired with a music video featuring Mac canoeing near his mother’s residence in Canada. Regarding the new track, Mac shares, “a song I wrote at my home in Los Angeles about what home means to me.” You can view the video for ‘Home’ here: Mac’s upcoming album, ‘Guitar’, was reportedly recorded entirely in November 2024 at his Los Angeles home. He took charge of all the aspects of the album's creation, including the visuals, which were filmed by himself using tripods, except for the mastering, which was handled by David Ives. This new album is his first release since 2023's instrumental project, ‘Five Easy Hot Dogs’, which was recorded during his journey from Los Angeles to New York City.
