A night of celebration for the band...

UK indie icons The Charlatans performed at Castlefield Bowl last night (July 3rd) and delighted their audience with two new tracks.
The band has not released new music since their ‘Totally Eclipsing’ EP in 2018, which followed their 13th studio album, ‘Different Days’, released in 2017.
Returning to Castlefield Bowl, The Charlatans revisited a city that has been significant in their history – while they are not formally a Manchester band, they spent substantial time there during their early years and continue to have a strong connection to the city’s music scene.
Kicking off the sold-out concert with ‘Forever’ and the early hit ‘Weirdo’, the setlist favored popular tracks—such as ‘Can’t Get Out Of Bed’, ‘One To Another’, and ‘How High’.
It also appears that the five-member group – Tim Burgess (vocals), Martin Blunt (bass), Mark Collins (guitar), Tony Rogers (keyboards), and Pete Salisbury (drums) – have been creating new music.
They performed two unreleased songs, with lead singer Tim Burgess sharing that they are titled ‘We Are Love’ and ‘Many A Day A Heartache’.
Setlist:
1. Forever 2. Weirdo 3. North Country Boy 4. Can’t Get Out Of Bed 5. Soul Saver 6. Just When You’re Thinkin’ 7. Toothache 8. We Are Love 9. One To Another 10. Just Lookin’ 11. Blackened Blue Eyes 12. Impossible 13. The Only One I Know 14. How High
15. I Don’t Want To See The Sights 16. Many A Day A Heartache 17. Sproston Green
