Alt-pop pioneer Luvcat has unveiled her plans for her debut album, ‘Vicious Delicious’.
The singer-songwriter kicked off the year with a sold-out performance at the historic Hoxton Hall in London, delivering an impressive three-night show where Luvcat shone brightly on stage.
Following this, she dedicated her time to creating new music. When she realized that Halloween fell on a Friday—the international release day—her enthusiasm was sparked, prompting Luvcat to intensify her studio sessions.
Thus, ‘Vicious Delicious,’ Luvcat’s debut album, is set to launch on October 31st through AWAL and is available for pre-order now.
A complete tour is planned for Autumn, featuring Luvcat as the headline act at London’s KOKO venue on November 12th.
She shares her thoughts…
The creation of this album was somewhat serendipitous. Amid the chaos of the past year, I decided I didn’t want to play around with EPs or mixtapes. I aimed to make my first significant statement, and once I discovered that Halloween would be on a Friday, I knew we needed to work quickly to pull it all together. It may have a few smudged lipsticks and torn stockings, but I'm incredibly proud of how we’ve captured this strange, magical narrative along with all the lovers and libertines I've encountered on my journey.
I perceive the record as an old-school romance that's a bit off balance, swinging between love and addiction, ecstasy and melancholy, eroticism and innocence, the deliciously vicious and the viciously delicious.
The title track is currently available, a tantalizing and irresistibly addictive slice of alt-pop, complete with a visual overseen by Luvcat herself. She elaborates…
‘Vicious Delicious’ tells the story of a terrible man who tasted like heaven. He was irresistible, magnetic, charmingly handsome, and moved like Fred Astaire. A true hedonist with a matching black eye. I was heavily influenced by Sid & Nancy during that time... reflecting on dangerous, intoxicating love. WARNING: steer clear of a man in a band.
