Soulwax is set to release their new album, ‘All Systems Are Lying,’ later this year.
The Belgian group has played a significant role in shaping the rave scene, merging guitar-driven music with electronic sounds and introducing many fans to this fusion.
Founded by brothers David and Stephen Dewaele, the duo has recently shifted their focus to guest production, remixes, collaborative projects, and their joint Despacio soundsystem venture with James Murphy.
The album ‘All Systems Are Lying’ will be available on October 17th through DEEWEE / Because Music, released under their own DEEWEE label in partnership with Because Music.
Characterized by the brothers as “a rock album created without any electric guitars,” the new material seeks to embrace a performance aspect, employing modular synthesizers, live drums, tape machines, and processed vocals.
Reflecting the current darker times, it also hints at the adaptability of the Soulwax live concert experience.
A new double single has been released; the sharp title track ‘All Systems Are Lying’ is accompanied by the escapist track ‘Run Free,’ showcasing two powerful sides of their artistry.
