London-based artist Amaria BB, who has Jamaican-Guyanese roots, has officially released her new mixtape, ‘9PM IN PARIS.’
The 14-track project includes her recent singles ‘Bonjour’ and ‘All Of You’ and celebrates Amaria’s appreciation for the diasporic music that is emerging in France.
Amaria wrote the mixtape between France and Spain, collaborating naturally with French artists such as Jungeli, RSKO, Warren Saada, and Ronisia. This hybrid Afrobeats-RnB collection encapsulates a vibrant summer vibe, embodying the exhilarating, after-hours energy that comes from spontaneous late-night encounters.
Regarding the mixtape, Amaria BB expresses:
“Paris has always felt like a second home to me. I used to visit regularly with my mum from a young age, and its culture has always inspired me. Making this tape in Paris, surrounded by those influences and collaborating with amazing artists and producers was a truly natural and authentic experience for me and my artistic goals. I want listeners to feel incredibly good about themselves while enjoying ‘9PM IN PARIS’ because honestly, there’s no place better to be, and everything is enhanced when you listen to bb [laughs].”
For the lead single ‘Touch Me,’ Amaria collaborates with Congolese artist Ya Levis for a sensual bilingual duet that delves into the thrill of attraction.
