This news comes just weeks after Ozzy Osbourne’s final performance, where he took the stage at Villa Park in his cherished hometown of Birmingham alongside Black Sabbath.
Addressing the crowd, he expressed how wonderful it was to be back on stage, following an impressive line-up that featured globally celebrated rock and metal legends.
In his last performance, Ozzy reunited with his original Black Sabbath bandmates – Tony Iommi, Terence “Geezer” Butler, and Bill Ward.
Born in 1948, Ozzy Osbourne's life exemplifies fierce independence. As the frontman of Black Sabbath, his voice was instrumental in shaping heavy metal, with their early albums—often recorded in short sessions—representing the peak of intense guitar music.
As the 1970s progressed, Ozzy's struggles with addiction led to his dismissal from Black Sabbath. Retreating from the spotlight, he was managed by Sharon Arden, a formidable figure in the music industry who would eventually become his wife and guide his next phase.
With guitarist Randy Rhoads by his side, albums like ‘Blizzard Of Ozz’ marked a remarkable and well-deserved comeback.
The devastating loss of Rhoads in a plane crash profoundly affected Ozzy, and his issues with addiction resurfaced in the 1980s. However, with proper support, he became a revered elder statesman of metal, with events like Ozzfest fostering a community across generations.
