The London-based project Holy Bones has released their new single ‘Saltywater.’
This mysterious group keeps their identities hidden but has shared that they met while hiking in 2020 and connected over their mutual discontent with the isolating aspects of life in London.
A series of singles have gained traction on social media, blending club elements with a lo-fi soul feel. Reminiscent of the early anonymous releases by Jungle, Holy Bones is set to perform at The Social in London on August 5th.
Their new single ‘Saltywater’ is remarkable – featuring clear electronics paired with an R&B-influenced vocal, it embodies a desire to emerge from darkness and welcome the light.
Regarding the track, holybones commented: “We composed this when we were all beginning to emerge from difficult situations – it felt like, for the first time in a long while, the clouds were parting. We’re mostly cynical, though.”
The accompanying video contrasts their enigmatic persona with visual elements of ritualistic folklore – self-directed, it serves as a way to release the past.
