South African artist TYLA has announced a new EP titled ‘WWP’.
The four-track collection includes earlier singles ‘IS IT’ and ‘BLISS’, along with a new focus track ‘DYNAMITE’ featuring Wizkid. The song, produced by Nigerian producer P. Priime, who also produced Wizkid’s breakthrough album ‘Made In Lagos’, combines soothing Spanish guitar with rhythmic Afrobeats percussion.
TYLA hinted at this collaboration (which has been in the works for a few years) during an exclusive listening event in London. “When I thought about creating a mixtape named ‘WWP,’ I revisited all my old demos and remembered the one with Wiz,” TYLA shared with her audience in July. “And it still sounded great, even after three years! I told him, ‘Let’s finish it because I want to release it’.”
After her homecoming performances in South Africa, the singer was determined to head back to the studio. ‘WWP’ offers the first insight into her evolving sessions, expanding on the club-ready vibe of her self-titled debut and the subsequent deluxe edition.
Next, TYLA will take the stage at All Points East in London on August 23rd and at the Global Citizen Festival in New York this September.
