Following the release of a new solo track last week, it seems that Paramore’s lead vocalist Hayley Williams may have unveiled a new album titled ‘ego’. Earlier today, the artist introduced a limited edition item from her Good Dye Young hair line, named ‘Ego’. Concurrently, seventeen fresh tracks, including last week’s ‘Mirtazapine’, have surfaced on her official website, hayleywilliams.net. To access the tracks, which are presented through a nostalgia-driven retro website design reminiscent of the late 90s and early 00s, listeners must possess a 16-digit code provided with purchases of the new Good Dye Young product today. Fortunately, some online detectives have already uncovered these codes, so it's advisable to start inquiring.
Track titles include the previously mentioned ‘Mirtazapine’, as well as ‘Glum’ — noted on the CD artwork for the former song — along with others like ‘Negative Self Talk’, ‘Disappearing Man’, ‘Whim’, ‘Discovery Channel’ (which references Bloodhound Gang), and ‘I Won’t Quit On You’. Additionally, there’s a ‘Misc’ folder containing a new t-shirt design stating ‘Hayley Williams is my favourite band’ (possibly a nod to previous Paramore merchandise), a voice recording of a child stating “I’m sorry that you’re going through something hard”, along with a photo and a smartphone-recorded live clip of Phoenix. If these tracks indeed constitute Hayley’s new album, it will represent her first complete solo release since her 2020 debut full-length album ‘Petals For Armor’ and its 2021 sequel ‘Flowers For Vases / descansos’. Additionally, it coincides with the recent 20th anniversary re-release of Paramore’s debut album ‘All We Know Is Falling’, which became available on streaming platforms last Friday.
