Oslo's crown jewel makes its return...
Øyafestivalen has quietly established itself as one of Europe’s most innovative city festivals, and this year's line-up is arguably the most thrilling to date.
Taking place in the verdant Tøyenparken just a short distance from central Oslo, Øya combines major headliners with a local touch and eco-friendly principles. The festival operates entirely on renewable energy and consistently features a gender-balanced lineup.
Headlining the 2025 edition is pop icon Charli XCX, who is set to showcase her Brat era in an energetic performance. Viral sensation Chappell Roan will also be in attendance, while Bicep is expected to deliver one of their signature extensive live shows.
Pa Salieu will also bring his bold, genre-blending sound to Oslo for his first appearance.
Norwegian artists play a significant role in Øya’s lineup. Musti, the Oslo-born rapper known for his personal storytelling through sharp Norwegian lyrics, will perform a hometown show. Additionally, the jazz-influenced hip-hop collective GiddyGang will collaborate with Vuyo for a dose of Scandinavian soul, while local favorite girl in red—now a global alt-pop sensation—returns to headline the festival, performing not far from where she previously graced the smallest stage.
With its wooded setting, ambitious artist choices, and community spirit, Øyafestivalen may not be the loudest, but it seldom disappoints. We’ll be there, enjoying every moment.
