After years of being compared to actress Daisy Edgar-Jones, Manchester newcomer Chloe Slater has - perhaps at last - embraced this likeness in the video for her new song, ‘Harriet’. In collaboration with director Bonnie MacRae, they have recreated scenes from the hit TV series Normal People (of course). “What began as a running joke about my resemblance to Daisy Edgar-Jones developed into a complete recreation of my favorite scenes,” Slater shares. “We were laughing on set when the shots matched perfectly. I've never consumed so many ice lollies in my life!” Director Bonnie adds: “I’ve watched Normal People around twelve times, so receiving this brief was truly a dream come true. Chloe and I had so many shared references and influences, which made the entire process effortless. Bringing Harriet to life in this manner, paired with a track that could truly accompany the original soundtrack, was such a delight!” The song itself is one of Chloe’s earliest works. “I wrote it at 18 in the worst student housing imaginable, during my first heartbreak. There have been numerous versions since then, but this release feels like a little tribute to that girl – like a genuine ‘I made it’ moment.” Chloe will also be going on tour later this year, starting at Portsmouth’s Night Currents festival on October 4th, and concluding in Dublin on October 16th. The tour dates are as follows:
