I’m reshaping what it means to be a woman… I’m unafraid to be my kind of woman.

CLOVER is no longer seeking permission. She’s taking control of the mic, the mirror, and the essence of womanhood on her own terms.
Intimate yet anthemic, "My Kind of Woman" is a powerful expression of radical self-discovery: Tender, sensual, and candidly truthful, the song serves as CLOVER’s empowering ballad for the spirit – a slow-burning, self-affirming reflection that balances vulnerability with strength. It’s a journey of reclaiming the body, rewriting the narrative, and fully stepping into the light of one’s own truth.
My Kind of Woman – CLOVER
You appreciate what you see
And I don’t care
How you perceive me
Is of no consequence
From my head
To my toes
I’m golden
A precious gem
I belong to myself
Atwood Magazine is delighted to premiere the music video for “My Kind of Woman,” CLOVER’s first single since her debut EP Atlas released last May. Growing up in Frenchtown, New Jersey, and now residing in Brooklyn, Clover Stieve (known as CLOVER) is a singer, songwriter, and storyteller whose music fuses the warmth of folk, the finesse of pop, and the essence of ‘70s revival, creating a sound that feels both timeless and urgent. Drawing inspiration from artists like Lake Street Dive, Maggie Rogers, and Carole King, her songs delve into themes of grief and healing, spirituality and identity, love and autonomy. Whether she’s crafting vibrant, groove-oriented anthems or stripped-back ballads of quiet despair, CLOVER writes with heartfelt sincerity – always open, always aware.
Her debut EP Atlas, released earlier this year, showcased her as an artist who bravely introspects and shares openly, with Atwood Magazine commending the title track as a personal anthem of awakening, filled with “the weight of unspoken words as the singer/songwriter allows herself to breathe anew.” Months later, “My Kind of Woman” carries that journey forward with fierce feminine energy and a courageous claim of identity.

Written as a reclamation of self and filmed shortly after her father’s passing, “My Kind of Woman” is infused with layers of grief, respect, sensuality, and sisterhood.
It is both deeply personal and universally relatable – a song that celebrates the strength of tenderness, the beauty of diversity, and the bravery of living authentically in a conforming world.
“This video was shot in Hawaii just weeks after my dad died,” CLOVER shares with Atwood Magazine. “I arrived feeling raw, immersed in grief, and in my most vulnerable state. On my first night there, I performed ‘My Kind of Woman’ at a house show, where I connected with an extraordinary group of women who resonated with the song. I asked if they would be interested in creating a music video with me while I was on the island, and everything fell into place so effortlessly.”
“Being surrounded and supported by these women during such a challenging time was exactly what my heart needed. The video showcases a powerful group of women: Hitomi Mochizuki, Cloe Breena, Katie Shim, Sequoyah Jones, Stella Javier, Renk Koçtürk, and Chloe Sit. Each one embodies an authentic, unfiltered portrayal of femininity – a diverse and vibrant range. From gentleness to strength, stillness to wild freedom, they illustrate the many aspects of womanhood.”
“This is not merely a music video – it’s a celebration of sisterhood. It’s based on connection, support, and uplifting one another rather than competition.”
My softness is a cycle
Spinning ‘round the womb
Saturated scarlet
Uterus an artist
Watercolor blooms
Do you understand
Pussy is power
The power is in her hands
