Just a week after revealing plans for a massive UK and European tour next year, Biffy Clyro have released a second preview of their upcoming new album. Following the release of the lead single ‘A Little Love’, the Scottish trio has now presented another track from ‘Futique’, titled ‘Hunting Season’. With powerful verses and an uplifting chorus, it resonates with the grand, sweeping energy of ‘Living Is a Problem Because Everything Dies’ and then some.
Regarding the themes of the track, Simon Neil from the band stated, “‘Hunting Season’ expresses the idea that I’m uncertain whether I can evaluate myself through the perspective of others. It’s challenging enough to understand who you are and what is important to you, but if you focus too much on how others perceive you, you’re at a disadvantage. It feels like there's so much judgment from people in the outside world who know nothing about us, which can be quite frightening.”
This song is featured on the band’s upcoming tenth album, which is scheduled for release on September 26 via Warner, following their 2020 album ‘A Celebration of Endings’ and its sequel, 2021’s ‘The Myth of the Happily Ever After’.
