Cornershop and Eden Gray collaborate on new single ‘Amsterdam via Rotterdam’.
The two artists were introduced by a mutual friend in 2019, with Cornershop actively seeking new talents. Eden, full of potential, had just embarked on a serious pursuit of music.
While Cornershop took a break to focus on their album ‘England Is A Garden’ in France, the desire to work together persisted. This led to the creation of the new track ‘Amsterdam via Rotterdam’, made possible by their overlapping schedules.
Driven by Eden Gray and complemented by Cornershop’s inherent vitality, the song captures a dynamic interplay of light and dark.
It carries an introspective tone, reflecting on the pull of the past, yet ‘Amsterdam via Rotterdam’ also embraces joyful memories.
Inspired by Eden’s grandmother, the music video employs generative AI to animate and reinterpret over 50 retro family photos. It features a fictional app that allows users to revisit and reshape their past—though with a price.
This intriguing approach touches on a relevant issue, with touchingly nostalgic glimpses that embody the essence of what Cornershop and Eden Gray crafted in the studio.
