Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin referred to this singer as “All Of Everything.”

Led Zeppelin's frontman Robert Plant has paid tribute to the late Terry Reid, whom he referred to as “all of everything.”

The two crossed paths during their time performing in clubs throughout the 60s, often interacting both onstage and off. Terry Reid was a groundbreaking figure in rock music, commanding great respect from true legends, though he never received the mainstream recognition he rightfully deserved.

Jimmy Page admired him, and when The New Yardbirds – which would later become Led Zeppelin – were being formed, Terry Reid was a candidate for the lead vocalist position.

However, Terry, affectionately known as Superlungs, decided it wasn't the right fit for him and instead recommended a young singer from the Midlands named Robert Plant.

Terry Reid passed away this week at the age of 75, and Robert Plant expressed his heartfelt sentiments on Instagram.

He wrote: “Terry Reid’s passion and support were extraordinary back then… as teenagers, we would crash each other's performances and repeatedly perform Season of the Witch… It was so much fun. He was everything… such charisma.”

“His voice, his range. His songs perfectly encapsulated that carefree era. Superlungs indeed. He launched me into an intense new realm that he chose to forgo. Now, when I listen to his album ‘The River,’ I can’t help but shed a tear for my brother in arms.”

Graham Nash, who was also close to Terry Reid and produced his album ‘Seed Of Memory,’ shared his sorrow on social media: “I’m struggling to express how saddened I am by the loss of my dear friend Terry. Just a few months ago, we were smiling together on my bus.”

“It remains one of my proudest achievements to have produced his beautiful album ‘Seed of Memory.’ That voice. That guitar playing. That wonderful person will be missed deeply by us all.”
