It's a poignant and atmospheric beginning...

A lesser-known solo track by George Harrison has been chosen to open the upcoming horror film Weapons.

Written and directed by Zach Cregger, the film is already being hailed by critics as one of the standout cinematic experiences of 2025. With a cast that includes Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, and Alden Ehrenreich, the story revolves around the mysterious case of 17 children from the same class who vanish, seemingly taken by an unidentified force.

The poster for Weapons states: “Last night at 2:17 a.m. every child from Mrs. Gandy’s class woke up, got out of bed, went downstairs, opened the front door, walked into the dark… And they never came back.”

The film's score plays a crucial role, featuring a classic solo piece from George Harrison to set the stage. ‘Beware Of Darkness’ is included on his monumental 1970 album ‘All Things Must Pass’, a remarkable three-disc collection that emerged during the breakup of The Beatles.

The English songwriter expresses a deep longing for freedom, while also hinting at an ominous tone; “Watch out now / Take care, beware of soft shoe shufflers / Dancing down the sidewalks / As each unconscious sufferer / Wanders aimlessly / Beware of Maya.”

A reflection of Radha Krishna Temple beliefs, ‘Beware Of Darkness’ was written at a significant time in George Harrison’s life—when he welcomed members of the Hare Krishna movement to his Friar Park estate in the spring of 1970.

Could this signify George Harrison’s ‘Hounds Of Love’ moment? Only time will tell.

One more somber note—Bobby Whitlock, who played piano on ‘All Things Must Pass’, including ‘Beware Of Darkness’, passed away over the weekend.
