'What’s Going On' and 'Save The Children'...
Beverly Glenn-Copeland has unveiled two daring interpretations of Marvin Gaye’s soulful greatness.
The double release, available now through Transgressive Records, coincides with Glenn's efforts to finalize a new studio album.
This independent project sees Beverly Glenn-Copeland paying tribute to Marvin Gaye—a towering presence in American culture and a key voice in soul music.
Inspired by Gaye’s iconic 1971 album, he presents thoughtful, sincere, and illuminating renditions of ‘What’s Going On’ and ‘Save The Children.’
He reflects…
“Marvin Gaye was my mentor. Although I never had the opportunity to meet him in this lifetime, his premature passing deeply saddened me. I continue to listen and learn from his insights. Marvin’s music holds prophetic qualities, and his message of unity through love remains relevant today. It is a privilege to cover these two significant songs that encapsulated the spirit of a nation during a crucial moment in our shared history. Absorb his reflective lyrics. Move to his soulful rhythms. Immerse yourself in the brilliance of a master and respond to his call.”
Tune in now.
Beverly Glenn-Copeland will wrap up his first UK headline tour since 2019 this October.
