Radiohead has released a new live compilation titled ‘Hail To The Thief Live Recordings 2003-2009’.
Now available, this release features performances from various shows, focusing on tracks from their sixth studio album ‘Hail To The Thief’.
This album, noted for its political themes, has sparked considerable discussion among fans due to its length and varied style, but it has also produced some of Radiohead's most enduring songs.
‘Hail To The Thief Live Recordings 2003-2009’ offers a different perspective on these tracks, featuring recordings from concerts in London, Amsterdam, Buenos Aires, and Dublin between 2003 and 2009. The album was mixed by Ben Baptie and mastered by Matt Colton.
Currently available digitally, a limited-edition vinyl pressing will be released on October 31st. This unique pressing will come in a limited red color variant at independent retailers, and in cyan vinyl exclusively from Radiohead’s W.A.S.T.E. store.
Discussing the new live album, Thom Yorke states:
"In considering how to create arrangements for the Shakespeare Hamlet/Hail To The Thief theater production, I requested some archival live recordings of the songs. I was astonished by the energy with which we performed. I hardly recognized ourselves, and it guided me in a new direction. We thought it made sense to have these live recordings mixed and shared (it would have been crazy to keep them to ourselves). This has been a very therapeutic journey. We sincerely hope you enjoy them."
