The 12-track mixtape highlights the artist's enduring passion for R&B.
British-Sudanese soul musician Elmiene will be releasing his new mixtape, 'Heat The Streets', on September 5th through Polydor/Def Jam Recordings.
This 12-track project was launched with the slick tribute to ’90s RnB heartbreak anthems titled 'Useless (Without You)'. The teasers for the single quickly garnered over 4.4 million views within just a few days, generating excitement among fans and fellow artists, including Kehlani.
Featuring all new content, alongside a few skits and interludes, the mixtape reflects Elmiene's lifelong dedication to R&B, a genre that has consistently influenced his work. Fearless in expressing profound emotions and making grand romantic gestures, 'Heat The Streets' captures and celebrates the emotional richness of classic R&B.
'Useless (Without You)' is a heartfelt ballad expressing a sense of life's emptiness without a partner, while the dramatic track 'Damage Control' envisions the night before a relationship's end, set against an irresistible funk backdrop. The mixtape concludes with a warm rendition of Carole King’s timeless song about love, ‘You’ve Got A Friend’.
This release comes on the heels of his three-track remix EP, 'This is the Remix'. Elmiene recently performed at the BET Awards, shared the stage with D’Angelo at the Roots Picnic, and opened for Stevie Wonder at BST Hyde Park. His NPR Tiny Desk Concert has recently crossed over one million views.
Stay tuned.
