"It reflects that bitter sensation you experience when those close to you disappoint or let you down."

British producer Leon Vynehall has released ‘Scab’, the latest single from his forthcoming album ‘In Daytona Yellow’, set to drop on October 3rd via Ooze INC.

Featuring London singer-songwriter TYSON, this brooding track serves as an unvarnished reflection on disappointment, self-image, and the lingering taste left by broken trust.

‘Scab’ showcases the electronic artist’s evolving style on ‘In Daytona Yellow’: a blend of experimentation and the emotional clarity of classic songwriting. The production juxtaposes atmospheric soundscapes with tight rhythms, allowing TYSON’s vocals to express both intimacy and edge.

The collaboration unfolded organically for Vynehall, who has been friends with TYSON for several years:

“Tyson lived just down the street from me. We had talked about making music, and when this song began to take shape, I asked her to collaborate,” he recounts. “The song went through various versions, but her voice was the unifying element. It addresses that bitter taste that lingers when people you trust disappoint you, and how that influences your self-perception.”

“It’s about rejecting perfection and accepting vulnerability,” Vynehall elaborates on the album’s core theme. “I aimed to release that pressure – to bid farewell to a previous version of myself and move forward.”

Alongside TYSON, Vynehall gathered a group of artists to enrich the sonic landscape: vocalists POiSON ANNA, Beau Nox, Kenzie TTH, Jeshi, and the Birmingham band Chartreuse, as well as multi-instrumentalist Harvey Dweller, string arranger Amy Langley, long-time collaborator Eric Timothy Carlson, and photographer Amanda Elise K.
