End of Summer – Tame Impala
Everyone is aware of my feelings for you
So if you need to, you can pretend to be surprised
And I remain your friend if you think that matters
It just means I'll encounter you when the time comes
Released on July 25th through Columbia Records, “End of Summer” signifies a new chapter for Tame Impala. Even though he released his last studio album more than five years ago, he has remained active since then. In 2024 alone, he collaborated with the French electronic duo Justice, winning a Grammy for their song “Neverender,” and worked with Dua Lipa on her third album, Radical Optimism, among other significant ventures – showcasing his versatility across different genres and cultures worldwide.
“End of Summer” energizes the atmosphere, stirring a danceable groove with pulsating kick drums that create steady strokes on an animated sonic canvas.
I can’t deny it feels overwhelming
Living our lives just for one thing
At this moment, I wish I could embrace you
Even though I understand it wouldn’t mean a thing
As the lyrics evoke a sunrise, the song deepens emotionally. “End of Summer” navigates through memories and shared experiences, capturing a moment frozen in time. Life has a unique way of drawing people into our sphere, and what they represent can leave a lasting impact on our growth.
I recognize that I may come off as indifferent in such instances
I just hope it's sufficient to express that my words don't come easily
And I realize you might not trust it, but you’re on my mind
I waited until summer’s end, and now I’m out of time
As the lyrics set the stage for a sunset, the buoyant music sparkles like sea foam. Change flows naturally, reminding us that the passage of time brings both loss and renewal. By living in the present, we extend our connections, carrying forward memories that lead us to new horizons with each day's arrival.
I’ll manage on my own, facing it by myself
It’s a feeling deep within, can we do it tomorrow?
I’ll handle it myself, going through it alone
It’s a feeling in my bones, can we do it tomorrow? And-
I know I may seem indifferent in these moments
Just because I don’t regret it
Doesn't imply it won't occupy my thoughts

Love doesn’t cast darkness
Fun doesn’t equate to shallowness
I just want to make it brighter
I just want to lie next to you
I’ll manage on my own, facing it by myself
It’s a feeling deep within, can we do it tomorrow?
I’ll handle it myself, going through it alone
It’s a feeling in my bones, can we do it tomorrow?
