Purity Ring unveils their enchanting new song 'imanocean.'

Canadian electro-pop group Purity Ring has unveiled their ethereal new single ‘iamanocean’, the fourth track from their upcoming self-titled album. The band, who gained recognition with their 2012 debut ‘Shrines’, is set to release their fourth album on September 26th. The dreamy, anime-inspired quality of ‘iamanocean’ continues the theme established in their previous release ‘place of my own’ and their double single ‘many lives’ & ‘part ii’. This self-titled album will follow their 2020 full-length ‘Womb’ and their 2022 EP ‘Graves’, and is intended to be a concept album influenced by the video games Nier Automata and Final Fantasy X.

“MJ, also known as Megan James, commented on the new single, saying, ‘We had a really nice time playing songs on the beach and getting washed away. This song feels like a sweet current of fog drifting over the ocean, a wave away from everything we've created while still being completely us. There’s a part of us that we wanted this song to touch, and it took several attempts before we reached this version. The satisfaction it brings is reminiscent of the hazy memories of our past songs, reflecting on all the sunsets we’ve witnessed and the times we got swept away in the moment. It’s a foggy dream of emotion encircling us in a gentle chaos of flowing water, embodying the euphoria and contentment of being one with ourselves. I’m simply a body, holding water, generating heat.’”
