Based in Manchester, DJ and producer Interplanetary Criminal (IPC), a prominent figure in the new wave of UK garage, has released his newest single ‘Fón Póca’, a collaboration with Irish rapper Travy. Meaning “mobile phone” in Irish, the track combines the energy of UKG with the lyrical intensity of one of Ireland's most exciting emerging voices, highlighting the shared background of both artists in sound system culture and innovative club music.
This single comes on the heels of IPC’s highly praised ‘Slow Burner’ with Grammy-winning artist Koffee, which gained viral popularity and became a highlight in his international performances. It also follows his three performances at Coachella earlier this year and a JUNO Award win for Best Dance Recording for ‘No Time’ with SadBoi.
For Travy, ‘Fón Póca’ marks a continuation of an impressive streak. As the first Irish rapper to achieve two Number 1 albums in Ireland, he is solidifying his status as an important new force in UK and Irish music, exploring new collaborative paths.
