Hatchie announces her upcoming album ‘Liquorice’.
The Australian dream pop artist has shared some exquisite music, beginning with her debut album ‘Keepsake’ in 2019.
After spending a significant amount of time in Los Angeles, her return to Australia prompted Hatchie to reassess her life, a process reflected in the newfound simplicity of her music. She explains:
Ultimately, the inspiration for the album stemmed from leading a very simple life and taking the time to reconnect with myself and be alone with my thoughts.
While living in Brisbane and collaborating with JaySom on production, ‘Liquorice’ was crafted throughout 2024. Hatchie adds:
This album feels like the culmination of everything I’ve aimed to achieve with this project since its inception. I concentrated on the finer points of the journey of love gained and lost, drawing inspiration from my favorite tragic romance films. I've never felt more in tune with an album, and I can’t wait to share this experience with everyone.
‘Liquorice’ is set to release on November 9th. The new single ‘Lose It Again’ is charged with a Britpop-like energy, making it a great introduction to this new phase.
