Their latest lead single, 'B A D I D E A,' premiered on Apple Music’s New Music Daily Radio with Zane Lowe and has been receiving significant radio play. Militarie Gun was recognized as BBC Radio 6 Music’s Daily Breaking Artist.

Vocalist and main songwriter Ian Shelton joined Zane Lowe on air to discuss the new track: “I aimed to create a video that celebrates vices, portraying a new version of oneself reflecting on past mistakes without genuine introspection. This was the most technically demanding video we've ever produced, and it perfectly suits a song that spells out 'bad idea.'”

‘God Save The Gun’ serves as a deeply personal reflection of experiencing one’s lowest moments when ideally one should be thriving – an absurdist exploration of the clash between self-destruction and self-belief. Shelton states, “I realize that being this open about my personal struggles turns my trauma into a promotional element for this album. However, I am comfortable with that, even if it is a provocation. Over the past few years, as I discussed addiction from an insider's viewpoint, I found myself grappling with the issue. There’s a ridiculous logic in entering a situation fully aware of the outcomes and proceeding regardless – but that's where my mindset was when I began to rely on alcohol.”

Working with a mix of new and veteran collaborators, Shelton maintained his creative partnership with songwriter Phillip Odom, co-wrote with longtime collaborator and frequent harmony vocalist James Goodson of Dazy, and newly engaged Nick Panella of MSPAINT, among others. Militarie Gun also partnered with producer/engineer Riley MacIntyre (Arlo Parks, The Kills) to ensure the songs not only had a massive sound but also conveyed the emotions behind them. Militarie Gun's debut album, ‘Life Under The Gun,’ was one of the most acclaimed albums of 2023. Last year's ‘Life Under The Sun EP’ featured tracks from their celebrated debut album, reimagined with help from various friends and collaborators, including Bully, Manchester Orchestra, and Mannequin Pussy. This was complemented by the ‘Life Under The Sun’ mini-documentary, which saw the band and a host of their collaborators gather at Manchester Orchestra’s Atlanta studio to further reinterpret the tracks from the aforementioned EP, featuring guest performances from Manchester Orchestra, Marisa Dabice of Mannequin Pussy, and Christine Goodwyne of Pool Kids, who performed "Never Fucked Up Twice" in place of Alicia Bognanno of Bully.
