The Sheffield rock band celebrates the release of their fifth studio album with some exciting additions.
Pulp has announced a reissue of their iconic fifth studio album 'Different Class', set to release on October 24th through Universal Music.
This announcement comes as part of a robust celebration of the album’s 30th Anniversary, which achieved chart-topping success and won the Mercury Prize that same year. Recognized as a Britpop classic, the album includes tracks such as 'Common People' and 'Disco 2000', along with 'Something Changed' and 'Underwear'.
In a delightful treat for fans, the reissue is packed with surprises. It will be available as both a quadruple LP and a double CD, featuring a previously unreleased recording of their entire 1995 Glastonbury Festival performance. Additionally, the band will provide a detailed 28-page booklet, which includes an essay, interviews, and archival photographs from Rankin and Donald Milne.
The year 2025 has been significant for Pulp, who released their first album in over twenty years, complemented by a remarkable performance at Glastonbury Festival.
Discussing the ‘Different Class – 30th Anniversary Edition’, lead singer Jarvis Cocker states: “This 45rpm double album version of 'Different Class' will enhance its sound considerably. We had a fixation on this being our 'Pop' album (as we had finally gained some 'popularity' with the hit 'Common People'), and as everyone knows, all pop albums feature 12 songs: 6 tracks per side.” He adds, “The only issue was that this extended the album's duration to 53 minutes. We were warned that this could affect the audio quality of the vinyl – but we were more concerned about preserving the essence of our Pop Dream. Now, 30 years later, we are finally ready for 'Different Class' to be experienced in all its splendor. Different Class, indeed.”
